Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 1.6 update: new features, modes
The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 1.6 update is bringing several new modes and a ton of new features to the game. Here’s a look at all features coming to the BGMI with 1.6 update.
Flora Menace Mode
The first and most important upgrade will be a new Flora Menace Mode. The mode will bring in-game elements like Zillion Matrix, Rejuvenation Barrier, and Dynahex supply. Moreover, the mode will be available in the Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok maps. Users can enter the Flora Menace mode by checking the Mode checkbox. Below is the timeline of when each map will get the new mode.
- Flora Menace – Sanhok: September 18th
- Flora Menace – Erangel: September 17th
- Flora Menace – Livik: September 22nd
In this theme mode, alien plants called ‘Yarilo’ will take over the above-mentioned maps and build a special barrier. This barrier is called rejuvenation barrier, where players can enter when not fighting enemies to have their energy rejuvenated slowly. Additionally, the new Flora Menace mode will retain some features from the Mission Ignition mode like riot shield, tactical marking device, air conveyor, and ASM Abakan, among others.
The Dynahex supply will contain special items to fight aliens like Groza gun, Spetsnaz Helmet, and Backpack (Lv.3).
Fatal Contamination Event
Players will be able to collect Yarilo Specimen, EpicPurple, and Vine in the Flora Menace Mode. These can be found only in the Erangel map in Flora Menace mode. Once collected, players can enter the Fatal Contamination event by clicking on the banner in the lobby. They can now sell these items to Anna to get Research Supply tokens. Players can also get these samples and tokens through daily missions and at Carlo’s Secret Stash every Wednesday and Sunday. These Research Supply Tokens can then be exchanged for permanent skins and other items in the inventory.
Vs AI mode
This special mode called Vs AI mode will be available only in the Livik map, where players will be required to team up with friends and defeat the AIs that have taken over Livik. Players can enter Mode: Vs AI through the mode selection screen in the game.
With the BGMI 1.6 update, players will be able to check the flight route anytime during the match on the mini map and not just in the beginning. This will help them figure out the enemy position and use tactics. Krafton has also added Highlights Moments and Death Replay, where the former shows how you defeated the enemy, and the death replay will show how you were taken down. These can be enabled in classic mode as well and can be viewed in Match Results, Statistics, and Moments.
Developers have also improved the crouch/prone setting, sprint sensitivity, anti-aliasing with 2x and 4x levels, and more. Another interesting feature that the developers have added is the Transparent UI Mode in matches, which needs to be enabled from settings. Once enabled, players simply need to long-press the BGMI logo on the top during the match to turn controls transparent. In this mode, the controls are still present and working but wont be visible to the player. This is useful for professional players who don’t need to look at the UI to play and will offer better visibility of the gameplay. To bring the controls, long-press the logo again.
Krafton has also improved headshot sound effects with the latest update. Now, if you shoot an opponent wearing helmet, it will actually sound like the bullet hit a helmet. The grenade vibration feedback has been improved as well. Developers have also improved overall animation in the game like firing animation of some guns, sprinting movements, dropping from the plane, and landing, among others. BGMI has also added a new Buddy outfit to the game.
Unlimited ammo, new guns and improved vehicles
Lastly, Krafton has revealed that the upcoming update will bring three new arena battle guns including P1911, FAMAS, and Mk12. Players will also get to enjoy P90, MG3, and ASM Abakan on the Training Grounds. Additionally, players will be able to enjoy unlimited ammo supply on training grounds. And finally, the update brings improved UAZ and Minibus durability, which will ensure that these in-game SUV vehicles handle attacks better.
Improved enemy tracking
With the BGMI 1.6 update, developers have added a focal length adjustment setting. Players can choose from tapping or holding to adjust the scope distance. This will help players to track opponents faster and kill efficiently.
Starting September 28th, BGMI will bring back fan favourite modes for a limited duration. This will start with the Metro Royale Mode and Titans: Last Stand Mode later this month.
The new update will bring the new Season C1S2 as well, which is set to commence from September 17th at 7.30am. In the new season the tier protection priority will be in the following order, Rating Protection Event, Return per protection, Challenge points, Rating Protection Card, and Default Tier Protection. The new season UI will show tier growth graph and comparison feature in the career data tab. Additionally, the latest update will bring new rewards and achievements. It will also come with improved overall UI, artwork and systems.
