Billion, the sub-brand to Flipkart has launched an all-new smartphone to compete in the budget segment which will go by the name of Capture+. The phone’s unique selling point is its dual camera setup located at the back and its sturdy build. The Billion brand previously sold household accessories and has now diversified to offer a smartphone as well. Let’s have a look at how this phone stands out from its counterparts.
Display and Design
The smartphone is solidly built and sports a metal body design. The smartphone is offered in two colour variants: Black and Desert Gold. On the front, the phone is fitted with a 5.5-inch Full HD display bearing a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels translating to a crisp pixel density of about 401 PPI with 2.5D Dragontrail glass on top for added protection. The brand is manufacturing the device in India under the Make In India initiative.
Performance and Storage
The smartphone is powered by the efficient yet powerful Snapdragon 625 by Qualcomm similar to its close counterparts from Xiaomi – The Redmi Note 4 and the Mi A1. The phone also packs in either 3GB or 4GB of RAM which should prove more than sufficient to power through all games and applications. In terms of storage, the phone will be offered in either a 32GB or a 64GB internal storage variant, both of which can be expanded externally through the onboard hybrid dual SIM/microSD card slot.
Camera and Software
The unique selling point of the smartphone is its dual camera setup and the company is bidding high on it with its tagline, Take Pictures as you see them. At the back, is where the phone’s primary camera is located, comprising of two 13-megapixel sensors, both of which combine together to click great pictures. The camera is also enhanced with PDAF to avoid blurry images. At its asking price, very few smartphones are currently offering the dual-camera setup. Up-front, the company has also catered to the selfie enthusiasts by equipping the Capture+ with an 8-megapixel camera which will take some great selfies. The phone also features some neat software tricks like the ‘Super Night mode’ and ‘Bokeh effect’ to add some more detail to the captured images. Out of the box, the phone will run a stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The company has also promised that the phone will receive Android Oreo in the coming months.

Connectivity and Battery
On the connectivity front, the phone will offer support for 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1 and a USB Type- C port for data transfer and charging use cases. Speaking of charging, the phone also supports Quick Charge 2.0 which can help you quickly top off the 3500mAh battery pack that runs the show. Owing to the power efficient SoC that powers the phone, the company has boasted that the phone has two days of uninterrupted battery life, and can charge up in just 15 minutes and offer 7 hours of battery backup.
The phone will retail for a price of Rs 10,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB variant and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB one.
