Xiaomi has officially announced the arrival of the Black Shark 2 Pro on Weibo. The gaming-centric phone from Xiaomi will come equipped with the flagship Qualcomm chipset. The Black Shark 2 Pro will be released on July 30th and will be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC.
The Snapdragon 855 Plus comes with an Adreno 640 GPU. It can reach clock speeds of up to 2.96GHz, whereas the SD855 can reach a peak of up to 2.84GHz. It continues to feature the X24 LTE modem that comes with the non-Plus version. For 5G connectivity, the SD855 Plus can work with X50 external modem. It is also worth noting that the ASUS ROG Phone II will be the first Snapdragon 855 plus powered phone, as it will be launched on July 23rd in China.
The Black Shark 2 with Snapdragon 855 was launche earlier this year. The Black Shark 2 features a bumped up SoC and this is likely to help better the gaming performance. Apart from the SoC, nothing much is changed on the Black Shark 2. As of now, Xiaomi is yet to reveal the details of the upcoming Black Shark 2 Pro.
