Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro smartphones have launched in China today. Like the Black Shark 3 series, the new gaming smartphones offer a console-inspired design with innovative gaming trigger buttons, beefed-up internals, and improved cameras.

The Black Shark 4 series users with a 144Hz refresh rate display, Snapdragon 8-series flagship chipset, up to 64-megapixel triple camera setup, and a big battery with 120W fast charging support. Both phones have almost identical specs, and they only differ in departments like chipset and primary cameras.

The Black Shark 4 series offers users with 144Hz display and Snapdragon 870/888 chipset

The Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro have 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED displays with punch-hole selfie cameras. Both displays offer Full HD+ resolution, a 144H refresh rate, a 720Hz touch sampling rate, 8.3ms multi-finger touch response delay, MEMC, DC dimming, and an in-screen fingerprint reader. In terms of appearance, both handsets have identical front and rear design.

The Snapdragon 870 chipset fuels the Black Shark 4, whereas the company offers the more powerful Snapdragon 888 mobile platform with the Black Shark 4 Pro. Both smartphones are equipped with enhanced versions of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1. The Pro model also features a customised SSD storage. The Black Shark 4 series runs JoyUI based on Android 11.

The Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro are powered by a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery. Both phones carry support for 120W fast charging. The company claims that it takes only 15 minutes to fully charge the Black Shark 4 / 4 Pro using the 120W charging tech. Both phones equipped with a double-layer 3D liquid cooling system that can effectively reduce the internal temperature by up to 18 degrees Celsius.

The Black Shark 4 series is equipped with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear-mounted triple camera setup of the Black Shark 4 has a Sony IMX582 48-megapixel primary camera, whereas the Black Shark 4 Pro model features a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel main camera. Both phones feature an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel macro shooter.

For gamers, the Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro are equipped with motorized shoulder buttons, which can rise by means of a magnet while playing games and retract when not in use. The Black Shark 4 Pro also features a 15V ultra-high power smart PA and dual 1216 linear speakers. The Black Shark 4 series offers other features like dual SIM, 5G, enhanced Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, Z-axis linear motor, and a 3.5mm audio jack. At the event, Black Shark also announced Black Shark 4 accessories such as Cooling Black Clip 2 Pro, 20,000mAh power bank, and protective covers.

The Black Shark 4 comes in three variants such as 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 12GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. These models are priced at RMB 2,499 (~Rs 27,800), RMB 2,699 (~Rs 30,000), RMB 2,999 (~Rs 33,300), and RMB 3,299 (~Rs 36,700) respectively. It comes in colors like Mirror Black, Ink Sea Black, Gray, Storm Blue, and Sakura Pink.

On other hand, the Black Shark 4 Pro 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variants are priced at RMB 3,999 (~Rs 44,400), RMB 4,499 (~Rs 50,000), and RMB 5,299 (~Rs 58,900). Its colour variants are Black, Ink Sea Black, Prism Gray, and Pink.

The first sale of the Black Shark 4 series will be carried out on March 26th. There is no word on the arrival of the Black Shark 4 duo in India.
