TENAA images of the Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) suggest that it might be an affordable device
The front panel image of the Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) smartphone is an exact match with the image that surfaced in the Google Play Console listing. It seems to be equipped with a flat display that has a top-centered punch-hole cutout. The volume rocker is on the left edge of the device and its right side has shoulder buttons for gaming. At the center of the right spine is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Except for the original Black Shark phone that launched back in April 2018, all subsequent Black Shark smartphones have a gaming-focused rear design with RGB lighting. However, the back panel of the Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) looks quite plain in comparison. A horizontal camera module with three cameras and an LED flash unit can be seen on its rear shell.

The Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) will feature shoulder buttons for gaming
Last year, Black Shark released three smartphones – the Black Shark 3, Black Shark 3 Pro and Black Shark 3S. All of them came with AMOLED displays and in-screen fingerprint readers. However, the Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, suggesting that it could be fitted with an LCD panel.
The TENAA images suggest that Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) could be a more affordable Black Shark 4 series smartphone rather than a Pro model. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know its exact identity.
Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) specifications and features
The Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0)’s Google Play Console listing revealed that features a Full HD+ display and runs Android 11. The handset was found to be equipped with a Snapdragon 865 processor and 12GB of RAM. At the time of the listing, we had assumed that the Snapdragon 865 chipset was an error in the listing, but if the Black Shark 4 (PRS-A0) is indeed an affordable phone, using last year’s flagship chipset would make sense.
Black Shark 4 series launch date
Black Shark launched the Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro in March last year. It is likely that the Black Shark 4 series may debut by the end of February or early March in China.
