Black Shark 4S and Black Shark 4S Pro have been launched in China. These gaming phones have arrived as the successor to the Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro that debuted earlier this year in the home market. The Black Shark 4S is almost identical to the Black Shark 4. The only noticeable change in the new model is that it comes with an enhanced rear design. On the other hand, the 4S Pro features a more powerful chipset.

Both smartphones offer 144Hz AMOLED display and 120W fast charging support. They are equipped with mechanical trigger buttons for an enhanced gaming experience. In addition, the Pro model comes equipped with an innovative Raid system, which is composed of custom NVMe SSD and an enhanced UFS 3.1 storage.

The Black Shark 4S and 4S Pro feature a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED punch-hole display with two pressure-sensitive zones for gaming. The screen supports a Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, MEMC, DCI-P3 colour gamut, 1,300 nits brightness, HDR10+, up to 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 720Hz touch sampling rate. For security, both phones feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Snapdragon 870 chip fuels the Black Shark 4S with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The 4S Pro is driven by the Snapdragon 888 Plus mobile platform. It is assisted by 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 + SSD storage. Both phones are backed by a 4,500mAh battery.

The 120W fast charging makes it possible to fully charge the Black Shark 4S / 4S Pro in around 15 minutes. The heat dissipation system on both devices comprises a large liquid cooling plate, a liquid cooling tube, and a copper alloy base. It is complemented by 11 built-in temperature sensors. The 4S series runs Joy UI 2.8 based Android 11.

Both phones are fitted with a 20-megapixel front camera. The 4S’ triple camera unit on the back has a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. The 4S Pro’s triple camera system has a 64-megapixel Samsung GW3 primary lens, which is accompanied by the same ultra-wide and macro cameras. The Black Shark 4S series offers other specs such as dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Black Shark 4S 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants are priced at RMB 2,699 (~Rs 31,500), RMB 2,999 (~Rs 35,000), and RMB 3,299 (~Rs 38,500), respectively. It comes in Black and Foggy White colours.

The Black Shark 4S Pro comes in two options such as 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage. They are priced at RMB 4,799 (~Rs 56,050) and RMB 5,499 (~Rs 64,200), respectively. It can be bought in colours like Galaxy Black and Sky White. The 4S duo will go on sale in China from October 15th.
