Black Shark to launch its lineup of gaming smartphones in India

India has been waiting patiently for the release of Black Shark gaming smartphones. The brand has finally announced its arrival in the subcontinent, and will bring a range of phones, peripherals and services targeted at gamers. The brand will be headquartered in Bengaluru. While the company hasn’t specified which device it plans to launch in India first, it’s likely to be the Black Shark Helo that was announced last year.

To recap on the specs, the Black Shark Helo comes with a 6.01-inch AMOLED 18:9 aspect ratio display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The display doesn’t carry a notch and hence, the product has visible bezels on all the sides. Its screen-to-body ratio is 77.67 percent and the pixel density of the display is 402 PPI. This offering is kitted with last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor while the graphics are handled by the Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU.

As for the variants, the phone focuses on a convenient gaming experience with 6GB/8GB/10GB of RAM along with 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The phone carries a dual camera setup on the back with a configuration of 12MP + 20MP with an aperture of f/1.75, OIS and EIS technology. The selfie snapper on the device has a 20MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. The device is also laced with Dual LED Flash, Phase Detection AF and Phase Detection AF with Dual Pixel technology.

Black Shark Helo to launch in India soon

The battery capacity of the Black Shark Helo is 4,000mAh with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and a USB Type-C port. The offering was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and the connectivity options include Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone has a dedicated fingerprint sensor on the back and weighs in at 90grams. It only comes in one colour – Black.

Black Shark Helo: price and availability
