According to the latest report, Reliance Jio has withdrawn the Summer Surprise Offer. Yes, you read it right. In a press release, Reliance Jio said, “Today, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has advised Jio to withdraw the 3 months complimentary benefits of JIO SUMMER SURPRISE. Jio accepts this decision. Jio is in the process of fully complying with the regulator’s advice, and will be withdrawing the 3 months complimentary benefits of JIO SUMMER SURPRISE as soon as operationally feasible, over the next few days. However, all customers who have subscribed to JIO SUMMER SURPRISE offer prior to its discontinuation will remain eligible for the offer.”
Just a week ago, Jio announced the Summer Surprise Offer along with the pushing back of deadline for Prime subscription till 15th April. Under this offer, Jio offered complimentary services for next 3 months to Prime members who recharge their account prior to 15th April using Jio’s Rs 303 plan (or any higher value plan). Well, not anymore.
Apparently, customers who have already enrolled for the offer will get the benefits. So if you haven’t taken Jio Summer Surprise offer, NOW is the time. It is unlikely that Jio would suffer adversely due to this ruling. They already have 70M+ Prime subscribers and has given enough time for everyone to get onboard the Jio Summer Surprise offer. Though we should expect a lot of rush outside Jio stores tomorrow.
