In case you want to purchase a BSNL SIM card, you’ll have to visit the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre or a BSNL franchisee. You’ll be required to carry your KYC documents like Aadhar card, address proof, ID proof, and passport size photo. You’ll be asked to fill up a prescribed form for the SIM application and after that, the new BSNL 4G SIM will be handed to you.

How to upgrade from BSNL 3G to 4G

In order to upgrade BSNL 3G SIM to 4G, users will be required to buy the BSNL SIM card through the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre or the BSNL channel partner. Before upgrading the SIM card, ensure whether your area has the service and if your smartphone supports 4G. The process to upgrade the SIM card is the same as the process of getting a new BSNL 4G SIM mentioned above.

How to activate a BSNL 4G SIM card?

Once you have upgraded your 2G/3G SIM card to 4G SIM, you’ll be required to activate the new SIM to be able to use it. Below are the steps to do the same.

  1. Keep your existing/old SIM card in your smartphone and open the messaging app
  2. Type RE4G <last 6 digits of the new SIM Card Number> <Circle Code> (Circle code for different region can be found online)
  3. Send the SMS to 53734
  4. You’ll now receive an acknowledgment SMS to confirm the SIM swap
  5. Reply with RE4G YES
  6. You will now receive a confirmation message

Once you receive the confirmation message, wait for the network signal to disappear automatically. Once it does, you can replace the old SIM with the new one and start using it.
