BSNL has secretly hiked the price of its prepaid plans in India

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has revised the validity of all its prepaid plans. BSNL has secretly increased the price of its prepaid plans. The state-owned telecom company has executed this task in a creative method. Instead of rising prices, BSNL has lowered the advantages of the plans while maintaining the same price.

So let’s take a closer look at what BSNL is now offering with its revised prepaid plans compared to what they used to provide.

BSNL Rs 99 Old Vs New prepaid plan

Previously, BSNL offered its Rs 99 prepaid plan with unlimited phone calling for 22 days. However, the same subscription will now include unlimited phone calls and 18 days of service validity. As a result, the per-day cost of this plan has gone up by one rupee to Rs 5.5. There are no additional consumer benefits included in this plan.

BSNL Rs 118 Old Vs New prepaid plan

This plan provides subscribers unlimited phone calls and no SMS benefits for 26 days, along with free PRBT service for Rs. 118 prepaid. BSNL has revised this plan with the same perks, except that it has a shorter validity of 20 days. In other words, the daily price has increased from Rs 4.53 to Rs 5.9 for this plan. This means that the per-day cost of this plan has gone up by Rs 1.6.

BSNL Rs 319 Old Vs New prepaid plan

A previous Rs 319 prepaid plan from BSNL included unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS and 10GB of lump-sum data for 75 days of service validity. The new plan’s benefits remain the same, except that the validity period has decreased from 75 days to 65 days. This plan now costs Rs 4.90 per day instead of Rs 4.25, an increase of Rs 0.65.

BSNL Rs 999 Old Vs New prepaid plan

Along with all the short plans, BSNL has also revised some of its long-term plans. Such as, the BSNL Rs 999 prepaid plan used to offer 240 days of validity with unlimited voice calling and 2 months of a customizable caller tune. With this plan, all the benefits remain the same except validity. The newly revised plan only offers 200 days of validity with this plan. This plan now costs Rs 4.9 per day instead of Rs 4.1, an increase of Rs 0.83.
