Indian state-owned telecom company BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is now offering free voice calling to its users, thanks to Reliance Jio’s disruptive free high-speed data and voice calling offers that sort of revolutionized the entire telecom industry in the country. That said, BSNL has now become the most-recent telecom operator in India to offer free voice calling after Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone.
It is should be noted that the plan has the validity of six months and is applicable to both prepaid and postpaid BSNL subscribers. Once activated, BSNL users will be able to make free local as well as STD calls to any network. The plan lasts up to 28 days from activation and bundles free 300MB data. It costs Rs 99 for prepaid customers in, BSNL confirmed in a statement.
Importantly, the rate is applicable to customers in these circles: Kolkata TD, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Gujrat, MP, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. For all other circles, the rate varies from Rs 119 to Rs 149, the company said in a statement.
BSNL is currently offering over 4,400 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. The company is aimed to reach the milestone of 40,000 hotspots by the end this year.
