BSNL number check: how to check BSNL mobile number using USSD code and online

BSNL is the state-owned telecom player that still manages to remain in the news. The telco has managed to not only compete with Reliance Jio but has somehow stayed relevant in a market where 4G has become a must have for a telecom operator. BSNL, in contrast, continues to be a 3G service provider and is expected to bring 4G this year. There is undeniable interest in BSNL due to its ability to challenge the likes of Jio without 4G.

BSNL keeps making right moves like offering extended validity and extra 100 minutes of calling as part of its COVID-19 relief. So, whether you got a new BSNL SIM or have re-activated your existing BSNL number, there might be a chance that you don’t remember that number. In that case, here is how you can find your BSNL number.

How to check your BSNL number using USSD code

BSNL is one of the largest wireline telecommunications network service providers in the country. Incorporated in 2000, the state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited also offers mobile voice and internet services and is estimated to have around 120 million subscribers in India as of May 2021. The company is a major GSM network provider and offers mobile service under the “CellOne” brand name.

Like the three major private telecom operators in the country, BSNL’s CellOne also allows its users to check their numbers using USSD codes. In fact, BSNL offers so many USSD codes that you just cannot miss out. With an USSD code, you can not only check your mobile number but also check remaining data balance, data validity, best offers and more. Here is how you can check your CellOne number from BSNL.

We have seen a lot of reports stating that *222# is the number to check your number on BSNL. However, we have verified that this number no longer works to check your mobile number. If you have a registered BSNL or CellOne number then simply enter the USSD code: *1# on your phone. You will see a flash message with your mobile number on the screen. Make sure you note down this number for ready reference. There are a few other USSD codes you can use to check your number, and we’ve added them in the list below.

List of USSD codes to check your BSNL number:

  • *1#
