BSNL is revamping a lot of its prepaid plans in the country starting December 1st. According to an SMS received by a BSNL subscriber, the state-run telco is now discontinuing the Rs 74 prepaid plan in favour of the Rs 106 prepaid plan. According to the SMS, the latter will offer the same benefits as the Rs 74 plan but with more validity.
However, while the calling benefits remain the same, the Rs 106 plan is also expected to be revised from December 1st including a longer validity and more data compared to the Rs 74 plan. Let’s take a look at all the details of Rs 74 and Rs 106 prepaid plans from the telecom operator.
BSNL Rs 74 prepaid plan to be discontinued
As mentioned before, according to an SMS sent by the telecom operator the BSNL Rs 74 prepaid plan will be withdrawn with effect from December 1st. The SMS was received in the Telangana circle and stated that the plan will no longer be eligible for validity extension. Instead, the SMS suggested the user to recharge with BSNL Rs 106 prepaid plan to continue enjoying the same benefits.
Notably, the Rs 74 prepaid plan used to offer 180 days of validity in the past, which was then revised to 90 days in January this year. The plan offers 2GB high-speed data and 100 minutes of calling benefit to any network in the country. In comparison, the Rs 106 BSNL prepaid plan comes with 28 days of validity, which will be revised to 100 days starting December 1st.
The telco will offer 3GB of high-speed data in total and 100 minutes of free voice calling to any network in the country for 100 days with the BSNL Rs 106 prepaid plan. In addition, subscribers will receive free BSNL tunes for 60 days.
In other news, BSNL is also offering a 25 per cent discount on its special tariff voucher 187 and plan voucher 1,477 to its existing but inactive users. The offer is valid for those who are in their grace period 2, which means within 172 days of the expiry of their last validity. As part of this offer, The BSNL STV187 is available for Rs 139 and BSNL PV1499 is available for Rs 1,199 till November 30th.
