With the launch of the Zero 5 and Zero 5 Pro, Infinix has added two new smartphones that will represent the brand in the budget segment. Both phones look to take on the highly competitive segment and pack in some raw power and seem to offer a good value for money. Let’s have a closer look at what they bring to the table.
Display and Design
Both aforementioned smartphones bear a similar look, rocking a unibody metal design making them feel sturdy in the hand. Up front, the phones are fitted with a 5.98-inch FHD IPS display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels thereby reproducing a pixel density of about 368 PPI. The display is enhanced with the help of 2.5D curved glass to add to the user experience.
Performance and Storage
Both smartphones pack in an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 SoC ticking at 2.6GHz. This is coupled with a massive 6GB of RAM which is a rare find in this price segment. The only differentiating factor between the Pro and normal variant is in terms of storage. The normal Zero 5 ships with 64GB of inbuilt storage whereas the Pro variant offers up to 128GB of memory. The phones run the company’s custom skin XOS 3.0 built on top of Android Nougat with a likely upgrade to Oreo in the coming months.
For the shutterbugs, the phone doesn’t fail to impress, featuring a dual-rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor and a secondary 13-megapixel sensor. The latter being a telephoto lens capable of 2x optical zoom. The rear camera setup is also paired with dual LED Flash for capturing clear images in poor lighting. On the front the phone is equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie snapper paired with front-facing LED flash.
Connectivity and Battery
The phones offer all the conventional connectivity solutions like 2G, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C connector.
To run the show, both phones feed on a huge 4350mAh battery unit onboard the devices. The phones are also fast charge compliant so you need not worry about waiting a long time to top up that massive tank.
The Infinix Zero 5 will ship in Champagne Gold, Bordeaux Red, and Sandstone Black colour variants for an asking price of Rs. 17,999. The higher memory ‘Pro’ variant will set you back Rs. 19,999. Both smartphones will be exclusively available through Flipkart starting midnight November 22, 2017.
