Canon EOS-1D X Mark III launched in India

Earlier this month, Canon had announced the EOS-1D X Mark III camera in its flagship EOS-1D X lineup. The latest model succeeds the EOS-1D X Mark II that was launched back in 2016. Now the Japanese camera maker has brought the latest Mark III to the Indian market. It is a high-end DSLR aimed at professionals who shoot action, sports and wildlife. The Mark III comes with a host of new upgrades compared to its predecessor. Let’s delve into the technical specifications of the device. 

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III specifications and features

The new EOS-1D X Mark III has the same 20.1MP sensor as the Mark II, hoewever, this is combined with a new High Detail Low-Pass filter for detailed images. The Mark III features Canon’s updated Dual Pixel autofocus system featuring 191 autofocus points out of which 155 are cross-type points. It also offers 3,869 selectable AF positions and 525 automatic areas. The camera supports eye, face and head detection autofocus in live view mode. 

The EOS-1D X Mark III is powered by a new DIGIC X processor. For better low light performance, it offers an ISO range of 100-102,400, further expandable up to 50-819,200. Canon claims that the Mark III is the fastest camera in the market. It is capable of shooting up to 16fps through the optical viewfinder and up to 20fps with live view mode. Still images can be shot and saved in HEIF format which features 10-bit colour and wide dynamic range. In terms of video, the Mark III is capable of shooting 5.5K and 4K footages at 60fps. 

Design-wise, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is equipped with an all-metal magnesium-alloy body which is dust and moisture resistant. It measures 1.44 kgs on a weighing scale. The camera offers a 3.2-inch LCD display. It is backed by an LP-E19 rechargeable battery unit that is capable of shooting 2850 shots on a single charge as per CIPA rating. 

On the connectivity front, the EOS-1D X Mark III comes with built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Gigabit Ethernet port. There is also USB 3.2 gen two and a USB-C port. All media is stored on the CF Express card. 

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III price in India

Canon has priced its latest EOS-1D X Mark III at Rs 5,75,995. It will be available for purchase from mid-February. A 512GB CF Express card and reader will be bundled inside the package.
