Rugged smartphone manufacturer Cat Phones has introduced its latest offering called the Cat S32 at the CES 2020 trade show in Las Vegas. The brand’s latest product has arrived as an affordable rugged smartphone. As you can expect from most Cat phones, the Cat S32 boasts IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The handset flaunts the MIL-STD-810G certification, which makes sure that the handset can withstand accidental drops and other forms of mechanical damage. The company claims that the Cat S32 is capable of remaining functional in extreme weather conditions. Notably, the device also comes with a textured rubberised design, which provides a stronger grip.

Talking about the other specifications, the Cat S32 offers a 5.5-inch display with a resolution 720 x 1,440 pixels, an aspect ratio of 18:9, and a layer of Dragontrail Pro glass for protection against daily wear and tear. The company suggests that the smartphone’s screen is capable of registering touch inputs with gloves and even in wet conditions. Under the hood, the Cat S32 has a quad-core MediaTek Helio A20 processor. The handset is loaded with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which can be further increased up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card.
For imaging, the Cat S32 has a 13MP primary camera on the back with an aperture of f/2.0 and phase detection autofocus. On the front, the handset is equipped with a 5MP snapper on the front. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and A-GPS with GLONASS. Lastly, a beefy 4,200mAh battery keeps the whole show running.
Cat S32 price and availability
The Cat S32 has been priced at €299 (~Rs 24,000). The phone will soon go on sale from Cat’s official website, authorised retailer stores, and carrier partners across the country. The smartphone will be offered in a single Black colour variant.
