Taiwanese electronics company Asus has released a teaser of its pre-CES Zennovation event scheduled for January 4th in Las Vegas, hinting the arrival of two new phones under its Zenfone lineup. Reports say that Asus is gearing up to launch the Zenfone AR with Google Tango, which was guaranteed by the company for CES 2017. Asus may also come up with another phone, allegedly the Zenfone 3 Zoom, which was recently spotted on Chinese certification website TENAA.
Let’s begin discussing the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom! The device, which goes by the model name Z01HDA, has a dual rear camera setup alongside a fingerprint scanner, right below camera module. From the limited information, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It’s the same chipset which is also found on Asus Zenfone 3 and Asus Zenfone Max (2016).
TENAA listing reveals that the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom will be available in three memory variants — 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4G RAM + 64GB storage. We aren’t sure about the storage expansion just yet. Moving on, it flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved screen on top.

The Asus Zenfone AR, on the other hand, will be the second Google Tango smartphone after the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. Google’s Tango boils down to phone’s unique augmented reality (AR) capabilities revolving around gaming and utilities.
In other news, the Asus event, which is scheduled for January 4th, is no longer listed on the official CES website. We might update this post once the event reappears on the site. Meanwhile, stay tuned to Pricebaba for more coverage of CES 2017!
