One of the much-awaited web series, Citadel, has created a lot of buzz. The trailer and official release details of the show was announced recently by the makers. Touted to be one of the most expensive series ever made, fans have eagerly awaited this American science fiction drama created by renowned filmmakers.

Citadel: OTT Release Details – When and Where to Watch

Fans can watch Citadel on Amazon Prime Video on April 28, 2023. The show will release in English as the primary language and will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam. However, the makers have decided to release two episodes on the first day. The remaining four episodes will follow over the next two weeks, and the announcements will be made accordingly.

The official announcement made by Prime Video on social media platforms reads, “the spy game has just levelled up. Watch the English trailer for @citadelonprime, a new series featuring the dynamic duo @_richardmadden & @priyankachopra #CitadelOnPrime, Apr 28  available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam.”

Citadel: OTT Release Details – Cast and Crew

Citadel is created by Josh Appelbaum and Bryan Oh and stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra as Citadel agents. They will portray the role of Mason Kane and Nadia Singh. Besides Priyanka and Richard, other names like Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, and others will also be a part of the series.

Russo brothers – Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo – serve as executive producers of the show along with Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, David Weil, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and others. The cinematography has been managed by Newton Thomas Sigel and Michael Wood. Gozie AGBO, Midnight Radio and Amazon Studios have jointly produced the series for Amazon Prime Video.

Citadel: Trailer and Premise

Presented as an action thriller, Citadel is said to made at a budget ofUS$250 million and touted to be second most expensive series of all time. It revolves around a compelling and emotional plot, the premise of which, as shared by the makers on IMDb reads, “Global spy agency Citadel has fallen, and its agents’ memories were wiped clean. Now the powerful syndicate, Manticore, is rising in the void. Can the Citadel agents recollect their past and summon the strength to fight back?”

Citadel Spinoffs

Makers of the show have also planned spinoffs set in the Italian Alps, India, Spain and Mexico. During their recent visit to India, the Russo brothers also announced the Indian adaptation of the series, which will be developed by renowned filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (Raj &DK). This adaptation will star Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles.
