Comio C1, C2 and S1 Launched: Now Made In India

China-bases OEM, Comio, has launched three new budget friendly smartphones which go by the name of C1, C2 and S1 respectively. With these products, the firm is looking to expand its market in the ever so competitive budget segment. The phones are Made in India and are the first phones by the company to be manufactured here. Let’s have a look at what these phones have to offer.

Comio C1

This smartphone is the cheapest one in the lot, priced at Rs. 5999. The phone isn’t to be deceived by its pricetag though as it features a 5-inch HD display bearing a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. On the design front, the phone sports a decent and durable build. Being an entry level smartphone, the fingerprint sensor is absent on this phone.

In the camera department, the Comio C1 rocks an 8-megapixel sensor at the back coupled with LED flash. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera as well. As far as performance is concerned, the phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC ticking at 1.3GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. The phone ships in a 32GB internal storage variant which supports expandable storage up to 128GB through an SD card slot. To power the phone, there’s a 2200mAh battery pack underneath it.

Comio C2

The C2 sits right in between the Comio C1 and S1 as far as price is concerned at Rs. 7,199. Similar to the C1, this smartphone is also fitted with a 5-inch HD display panel having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone will be available in Royal Black and Royal Blue colour variants. This phone also lacks a fingerprint sensor similar to the C1.

As far as optics are concerned, the C2 rocks an 8-megapixel rear camera sensor coupled with flash and another 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The phone also comes inbuilt with an anti-theft software that captures an intruder’s photo when they try to get through its lock screen by entering incorrect pin. Underneath its hood, the phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The phone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. The phone draws power from a large 4000mAh battery located underneath its chassis.

Comio S1

The Comio S1 is the most expensive device in the lot, priced at Rs. 8,999. In terms of design, the phone features an all metal body design and will be available in Royal Black and Sunrise Gold colour variants. This smartphone, similar to its younger siblings also features an HD display albeit measuring slightly larger at 5.2-inches across. This offering from Comio sports a fingerprint sensor at the front.

For photography enthusiasts, the device packs a 13-megapixel autofocus sensor with LED flash support on the back. Up front, the phone is fitted with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Under its hood, the smartphone features a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor ticking at 1.3GHz coupled with 2GB RAM. On the storage front, the phone comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. The phone feeds through a 2700mAh non-removable battery.


All of these devices run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The phones were launched earlier in August and now have been relaunched under the Make in India initiative where the phones are manufactured in India itself. However, there is no difference in specifications and features of either of these phones.The smartphones will be available through all leading online e-commerce websites and offline retailers as well.
