In a tweet yesterday, Qualcomm confirmed that the upcoming flagship device OnePlus 5 will be powered by this year’s flagship chipset Snapdragon 835. It’s the same chipset which powers the other flagship devices such as Galaxy S8, S8+, Xiaomi Mi 6, and LG G6. With the OnePlus 5, the Chinese smartphone brand also promises to offer a smooth performance by fixing the touch latency issues found in earlier devices like OnePlus 3 and 3T.
Apart from this, OnePlus also said to provide additional features in OxygenOS better manage the way apps perform. OnePlus CEO Pete Leu said, “The apps you use most are ready to go when you turn on the OnePlus 5. Apps you rarely use are deprioritized and kept from affecting performance.”
Earlier this week, OnePlus also said that it teamed up with DxO, an industry standard photography benchmark to enhance the camera on the OnePlus 5. As of now, the HTC U11 tops the DxOMark rating for the finest camera with a score of 91 followed by Google Pixel with a score of 89. We’re hoping OnePlus to surpass that score with OnePlus 5.
