Fans of actress Nayanthara can rejoice, as they will soon be able to enjoy her performance, in a new character in Connect, the trailer of which was released by the makers.
Connect: Cast and Crew
Connect is directed by Ashwin Saravanan and jointly written by Ashwin and Kaavya Ramkumar. Produced under Rowdy Pictures’ banner by Vignesh Shivan, the film stars his wife Nayanthara in the lead role. Prominent names from like Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher and Vinay Rai will also be seen in the film.
The cinematography for Connect has been done by Manikantan Krishnamachary and the editing is managed by Richard Kevin. Prithvi Chandrasekhar has given the music of the film.
Connect: Release Date and OTT Rights
Presented as a horror film, Connect will primarily release in Tamil and will also be dubbed in other languages. The Hindi trailer of the film was released by the makers on December 17, 20220. The poster of the film was also released by the makers ahead of the trailer launch.
As per reports, the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam will release on December 22, 2022, while the film, in Hindi, will release on December 30, 2022. The digital rights for Connect have been acquired by an OTT giant. Fans will be able to watch Connect on Disney+ Hotstar. Details regarding the digital premiere are awaited.

Sharing the trailer, the makers took to YouTube and said, “The Devil doesn’t leave quietly. In theatres December 30! Presenting the official Hindi Trailer of ‘Connect’ starring Lady Superstar Nayanthara, Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher, Vinay Rai & Haniya Nafisa. From Ashwin Saravanan, the director of ‘Maya’ & ‘Game over’ comes another horror thriller set during the national lockdown in India.”
The official plot of the film, as shared by the makers, reads, “During the nationwide lockdown in India, Nayanthara a single mother starts noticing eerie changes in the behaviour of her daughter gets virtual help of a pastor played by Anupam Kher who proposes a virtual exorcism.”
Connect: Message from the Makers
This film marks Ashwin and Kavya’s second collaboration after Gameover. In a recent interview, the director said that the film was written and shot in uncertain times which led to stress and anxiety at various times. Keeping the emotions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown in mind, the writers incorporated the aspects of hopelessness and uncertainty in the film as there were talks about the people, globally, were finding difficulty in recovering from the pandemic. These nuances have been portrayed in Connect along with the fictional aspect of horror, where one will also be able to feel anxiety, fear, dreading, sense of hopelessness, and more.
Sharing the announcement about the Hindi trailer release, the makers, in a press statement said, “Connect has been garnering a lot of love from audiences and celebrities ever since the Tamil trailer has come out. This has compelled the makers to release its Hindi version which will be released after its Tamil one. While ‘Connect’ will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam on 22nd December, its Hindi version is scheduled to release on 30th December. The new poster announcing the Hindi trailer and the film release has it all to raise our anticipation for this horror thriller.”
