A new Coolpad and LeEco co-developed Cool-branded phone, which goes by the model name Cool C105-8, is spotted on Chinese certification website TENAA. Previously, Cool C105 with 6GB RAM and Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 821 chipset was certified in China. Coolpad and LeEco together are evidently looking to strengthen and expand their portfolio with new, premium-specced smartphones under this fairly new brand. In fact, the first Cool-branded phone dubbed Cool 1 Dual launched in India yesterday for Rs 13,999.
As per the listing, Cool C105-8 features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen and unknown quad-core chipset clocked at 1.9GHz. It comes in two RAM options — 4GB and 6GB with multiple storage options i.e. 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. It houses a 16MP rear snapper with LED flash as well as an 8MP front shooter for selfies. The dual-SIM phone is backed by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and a bigger 4000mAh battery. It comes in White, Black, Gold, Silver, and Blue colour options and supports 4G VoLTE.
Our recent story reports that Coolpad India is now trying its luck with a premium segment in the country. In fact, the company also said that it may soon come up with a new phone that will be priced at somewhere around Rs 40,000. That said, Coolpad and LeEco are likely expanding their Cool lineup in India further with the next phone being Cool S1. It currently costs as high as 3199 Yuan (approximately Rs 31,316) in China.
