Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has launched the Cool Play 6 In China. The company is projecting it as a gaming device with buffed up hardware specs. The phone packs in a massive 6GB of RAM and mammoth sized 4060mAh battery to justify its tag of a gaming phone.
Design wise, the Cool Play 6 flaunts an all-metal unibody design and comes in two colour options – Black and Soft Gold. The phone also features dual rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Coming to specs, the phone puts on a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Inside are an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset backed by 6GB of RAM. The device gets 64GB of internal storage further expandable via MicroSD.
For photography, the Cool Play 6 houses a dual camera setup on the rear sporting a standard RGB lens and a monochrome lens for capturing extra details. Up front, the phone gets an 8-megapixel snapper for video calling and capturing selfies. The device is said to run the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat and draws its power from a 4060mAh non-removable battery. The company claims it to provide 252 hours of standby time, up to 9 hours of internet browsing, 8 hours of video watching, or 6 hours of extreme gaming. Additionally, the phone is also touted to feature a built-in intelligent temperature ensuring it doesn’t heat up above a certain level while playing games.
The phone carries a price tag of 1499 Chinese Yuan (Approx Rs 14,000) and will go on sale in China starting 16th May. As of now, there’s no news about the phone launching in India.
