Chinese smartphone company Coolpad announced a new smartphone dubbed Coolpad Conjr at the ongoing CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Design wise, Coolpad Conjr flaunts an aluminum unibody construction. The phone in question seems to be the company’s latest offering in the affordable segment, as far as its specifications are concerned.
Coolpad Conjr features a 5.0-inch HD (1,280 x 720) IPS LCD screen. Running inside is a MediaTek MT6735CP quad-core Cortex-A53 chip clocked at 1.0GHz. Assisting the processor are 3GB RAM and Mali-T720 GPU clocked at 450MHz. It weighs 148g and measures 143 x 72 x 8.66 mm. The device comes with a 16GB internal storage, expandable further by means of a microSD card support.
Coolpad Conjr offers two Nano SIM slots and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s Cool UI 8.0 on top. The phone packs in a 2500mAh which is certainly not a user-replaceable. In terms of the connectivity options, it offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and microUSB 2.0.
On the camera front, Coolpad Conjr features a 13MP autofocus rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and LED flash. Up front, it houses an 8MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture and selfie flash. One can also find a capacitive fingerprint scanner sitting at the back alongside a mono speaker.
Coolpad Conjr comes in gray and colour options. Even though the company has not revealed the price details, the phone is expected to cost less than $200 (approximately Rs 13,600). Coolpad has not mentioned any plans about introducing Coolpad Conjr outside the U.S. market.
Update: Coolpad has confirmed that it will soon be launching Coolpad Conjr in India. The device is expected to be available in the country by this month itself
