Coolpad is reportedly gearing up to launch yet another handset in India. This time, the phone in question is Cool S1 or Coolpad Changer S1, which was launched in China last month. In fact, last month we reported that Coolpad and LeEco are likely expanding their Cool lineup in India further with the next phone being Cool S1. This was anticipated ever since Coolpad hinted that it will launch a new phone that will be priced at somewhere around Rs 40,000. Recently, the company came up with its most recent offering Cool 1 Dual, which is retailing for Rs 13,999.
As far as specifications of Cool S1 are concerned, it undoubtedly falls under the premium, high-end segment. It sports a 5.5-inch screen featuring 1,920 x 1,080 pixels Full HD resolution and 401 PPI pixel density. It is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and Adreno 530 GPU. It is the same configuration which is also powering some of the current top-end phones available in the market such as OnePlus 3T, Google Pixel, etc. It comes in two variants — 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
The dual-SIM Coo S1 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with LeEco’s EUI 5.8 on top. On the camera front, one gets a 16MP rear snapper with LED flash, PDAF, and f/2.0 aperture. Up front is an 8MP secondary camera for taking selfies. The device measures 151.4 x 74.7 x 7.5 mm and weighs 168 grams. It is compatible with voice calling over high-speed LTE network connectivity, so that full use of Reliance Jio network will be possible. That aside, the phone carries Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port. Under the hood, it packs in a bigger 4,070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
Available in black and gold colour options, Cool S1 costs 2,499 Yuan (approx. Rs 24,620) for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, 2,699 Yuan (approx. 26,585) for 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, and 3,199 Yuan (approx. Rs 31,520) for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
