CyanogenMod Announces Android 7.1 Nougat Based CM14 For OnePlus 3 And More

After numerous experimental builds, CyanogenMod finally announced the nightly builds of their latest CM14 ROM which is based on the Android 7.1 Nougat. The official CM14 nightly builds will be available for OnePlus 3, Moto G series and some handful of other devices for now. As the development is progressing, it will be rolled out for other devices also in coming weeks.

CyanogenMod is a community build custom version of the Android operating system. It offers a ‘better’ version than Google can provide, with more features and more control for the hardcore user. It is also commercially available as Cyanogen OS. Here are the 10 benefits of using Cyanogen OS over Android.

Although these nightly builds are not stable build yet, but the number of bugs depends on the device. Typically, the stable build is released after acknowledging the bugs which are encountered in these nightly builds. Even though these builds are not stable, most people will be able to use the nightly builds as a daily ROM.

Devices which are getting CM14 nightly builds in the first push includes:

  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus 5X
  • Xiaomi Mi3w/Mi4
  • LG G3
  • Moto G
  • Moto G 4G
  • Moto G 2nd Gen
  • Moto G 2nd Gen 4G
  • LG G4
  • Samsung Galaxy S5
  • OnePlus 3
  • Asus Zenphone 2

CyaonogenMod also urged the developers and users to get involved with the project and said, “Now is a great time to get involved with the project too- CM is returning to its community-driven roots and there are endless ways to help out.”
