Dell has announced a new laptop in the premium segment, the XPS 13. It is light and thin, comes with high-end specifications and rocks the latest 8th generation Intel processors. Moreover, it also has an edge-to-edge screen which lets a bigger display fit inside a smaller frame. The laptop is already on sale and can be bought from Dell’s official website as well as offline retailers including Reliance Digital, Croma and exclusive Dell stores.
The Dell XPS 13 has a superb 13-inch bezel-less display with a QuadHD+ resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The surrounding bezels are extremely thin measuring at just 5.2mm on all the sides except the bottom. The display in the XPS 13 is fitted into a much smaller body than what a regular 13-inch laptop comes with. The maximum brightness of the laptop reaches to 400-nits and its viewing angle is around 170 degrees, both of which are impressive. The laptop being a high-end one, comes with a premium design and build quality. It is available in only Silver colour in India.
Even the recently launched Asus Zenbook UX430 series of laptops have thin bezels (Read our full review). A pattern of bezel-less displays seems to be emerging among high end laptops, as with smartphones.
Another major highlight of the laptop apart from its display is the presence of 8th generation Intel processors. This generation of processor offers up to 77% faster performance over the previous one. In terms of connectivity, the laptop supports Thunderbolt 3. For those unaware, it has the capability to transfer up to 8 times faster than USB 3.0 and twice as fast as the Thunderbolt 2.
The XPS 13 starts from Rs. 84,590 and is stacked against the likes of Macbook Air and the Asus Zenbook in the premium segment.
