‘Dhamaka’ OTT rights bagged by Netflix; OTT release date of Ravi Teja’s Telugu film to be announced soon

Telugu superstar Ravi Teja’s third film of 2022, Dhamaka, is set for its theatrical release. The trailer of the film was shared with the fans on December 18, 2022, and was watched over a million times on YouTube. Ahead of the release, media reports announced that the digital rights of Dhamaka have been bought by an OTT giant.

Dhamaka: Cast and Crew

Presented as an action comedy, Dhamaka is written and directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina. Besides Ravi Teja, the film stars Sree Leela, Jayaram and others. Dhamaka is produced under People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts’ banners by T G Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal, respectively. Karthik Ghattamaneni has done the cinematography of the film, which has been shot in several parts of Spain and Hyderabad. The editing of the film has been managed by Prawin Pudi, and the music has been given by Bheems Ceciroleo, who has composed six songs for the film.

Dhamaka: Trailer and Premise

The story of Dhamaka revolves around a business magnate, JP, who is also the head of JP Orbit. People working with him are not very happy as he is known to manage companies in a ruthless manner, and on a mission to expand the business, he eyes acquiring another firm names ‘People Mart’ owned by Nanda Gopal Chakravarty. He plans on gifting this as a birthday present to his son Arya, but things do not go as planned, as JP faces problems with his rival deciding to overthrow him. Eventually, JP finds out that a man named Swami was involved in Anand’s plan of overthrowing him and learns that the latter had decided to employ 1000 people in Vizag as a mission to help the jobless. What follows are events which unfold JP, Anand and plans made by others, and how JP intends to save the company.

Dhamaka: Reviews

Dhamaka received a positive response from critics and the audience. Reviewers shared that the film was an entertaining watch, and the performances were delivered well. The review in the Times of India read, “Ravi Teja’s energy and Sreeleela’s glamour make this regular story an entertaining watch.” Meanwhile, 123Telugu mentioned that the film has a mass appeal and would be liked by the audience. On the other hand, India Today’s review said, “Ravi Teja’s film is Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo gone wrong” further adding that despite plot twists and an interesting story, the film disappoints. IndiaTV News’ review read, “Ravi Teja’s comedy and action impresses, fans say ‘paisa vasool.’”
