Disney+ Hotstar has announced a new referral program for its users in India. As part of this offer, users will be able to get up to 6 months of free extension on their existing plan. Not only that, but Disney+ Hotstar is also offering a free one-month subscription to new users who join on the referral of existing users.
Notably, the OTT platform offers two subscription plans in India – VIP and Premium. These are priced at Rs 399 and Rs 1,499, respectively for an annual subscription. Here’s how you can avail the benefits of the referral program.

The Disney+ Hotstar referral program is a new offer introduced by the OTT platform. The program lets its users extend their existing subscription by up to six months through referrals. To benefit from the program, users need to invite family and friends to join the platform using a unique referral link. When a new subscription is availed using the referral link, both the existing and new subscriber will get one month of complimentary subscription.
However, there are certain restrictions on the Disney+ Hotstar referral program, including the number of free months for an existing user and more.
Disney+ Hotstar referral program: who is eligible?
According to the terms and conditions of the offer, both VIP and Premium subscribers of the platform are eligible. However, the offer is available only to those who purchased the subscription directly from Disney+ Hotstar. Those who are on a complimentary subscription provided by third-party services like Jio, Airtel, and Flipkart will not be able to claim the offer.
Moreover, once someone has used the referral link shared by the user, they won’t be able to upgrade their subscription plan. In case a VIP user gets six months of free extension and decides to upgrade to Premium plan, the complimentary extension will be cancelled.

As mentioned before, there’s no limit on how many referral links that can be sent by users. However, once six new people have joined using your referral link, the link will be revoked. Here’s how to share your referral link:
- Log in to your Disney+ Hotstar account on mobile or web
- Tap on the ‘My Account’ button in the top right corner
- Click on ‘Get extra months’
- You will see a pop-up window with a unique referral code
- You will be provided with the option to share it using WhatApp, Email, Twitter, Facebook and more
