Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus recently launched the Zenfone 4 series of phones. The major highlight of all the phones is the presence of dual-camera setup. During the launch, the company claimed that the full series of newly launched phones will be receiving Android O update eventually. Alongside, Asus has also claimed that previous year’s Zenfone 3 lineup of devices will receive Android O.
The complete series of Zenfone 4 includes Zenfone 4 Selfie, Zenfone Selfie Pro, Zenfone 4 Pro and the Zenfone 4. It is also worth noticing that all phones in the Zenfone 4 series will run ZenUI 4.0 out of the box.
Zenfone 4.0 is said to be the lightest Android UI skin developed by Asus till date. To back this claim, the company said that in ZenUI 3.5, the number of pre-loaded apps were 35. However, with ZenUI 4.0, there will be only 13 pre-loaded apps. The overall performance is obviously improved from its predecessor. The Taiwanese firm has also announced that the popular Zenfone 3 series of phones will receive ZenUI 4.0 update just a few weeks after coming to the 4 series.
Talking about the time frame, Asus said that it might provide Android O update possibly in the second half of 2018. The update will be made available for all the supported devices. The phones will also feature the latest features provided in Android O. Some of the popular features include picture-in-picture mode, adaptive icons, better Bluetooth audio support and unread notification badges.
Asus took a great initiative of promising its users of the next Android update. It seems hopeful that other brands will take cue and surprise their users.
