Highlights

  • Exclusive renders of the Moto G72 have surfaced, giving us an excellent idea about its design
  • Specs of the upcoming mid-ranger have already leaked out on multiple occasions
  • The smartphone could make its India debut before the end of the month

Motorola is known for its high-value mid-range and budget smartphones. Based on recent leaks, the company’s highly popular G-series of smartphones could be receiving a new entrant in the form of the Moto G72. We have now obtained exclusive images of this unannounced smartphone, courtesy of reliable source @Onleaks. revealing the phone in three exciting colours.

As we can see from these images, the Moto G72 comes with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. It will also be launched in at least three colour options – Blue, Siver, and Grey/Black. Through these exclusive renders, we can also see that the phone houses a triple camera setup on the rear.

The Moto G72 4G has recently appeared on FCC’s certification database bearing the model number XT2255. Meanwhile, we’ve also discovered that the Indian version of the Moto G72 is known internally by the name “Victoria22” with the model number being XT2255-2. The smartphone is scheduled to be released this month.

Moto G72 specs

It’s clear from the name that this smartphone would offer marginally better hardware than the recently unveiled Moto G62. It may offer a similar screen size as the Moto G71 which was unveiled earlier this year with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display. A 5,000mAh battery is also rumoured, accompanied by 33W fast wired charging support.

The earlier leaks suggested a 48MP camera, but from this new render, it appears that Moto G72 will have a 108MP primary rear camera. Additionally, it will have an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. A 16MP camera is likely to be featured on the front. Android 12 will likely run out of the box with no clarity yet on the Android 13 update.

Users should have options between 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM, while the company might offer 128GB and 256GB storage variants. This would be a much-needed upgrade over the Moto G71 which is only available in a 128GB storage configuration.
