Xiaomi is planning to make a splash in the tablet market with the launch of Redmi Pad. The tablet has been spotted in various leaks and today we have more information about the upcoming tablet. As per earlier, the global launch for Redmi Pad will be in this week. However, a new report by TechGoing claims that it may happen sometime in October. The report also mentions that we would get to see the much-awaited Xiaomi 12T lineup at this event.
Now, we have more news indicating the launch to be sometime in October. It seems that the company is looking at introducing this tablet in the Indian market during that time frame. In doing so, it may miss out on the current sale buzz but the launch may happen before Diwali. We have also exclusively learnt from our trusted tipster that the Redmi Pad will be available in three colour options – Graphite Grey, Mint Green and Moonlight Silver.
That’s not all, we have also learnt that Redmi Pad will be available in at least two memory variants. One will offer 3GB of RAM with 64 GB of memory, while the other offers 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage.
Redmi Pad Colour options
There has been more news corroborating the Mint Green colour of the Redmi Pad. Earlier today, a report by MySmartPrice, had spotted a social media post by the official Xiaomi Kuwait handle revealing the design of the said tablet. The social media post is now deleted but showed Redmi Pad in all its glory in the Mint Green colour.
Redmi Pad Specifications (rumoured)
There have been several leaks reported about the Redmi Pad. From what we have gathered so far is that the tablet is likely to feature an 11.2-inch LCD screen offering a 2K resolution. Reports also suggest that it will be powered by the new MediaTek MT8781 chipset and pack in a 7,800mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. For camera, it may have an 8-megapixel camera without an LED flash. Redmi Pad is expected to run the Android 12 OS with MIUI Pad 13 on top.
Earlier leaks also suggested two variants – 3GB+ 64GB and 4GB+128 GB. However, we through our sources have got to know that there might not be a 128GB model and both variants will offer just 64GB of internal storage. Recent leak also suggests that Redmi Pad will focus on providing a great media consumption experience and might come with a quad-speaker setup.
The leaks also point out that there could be Wi-Fi and cellular models for Redmi Pad. Last week, the Wi-FI-only model of Redmi Pad was spotted on the TDRA.
As far as the pricing goes, Redmi Pad cellular model is expected to launch in the European markets for 250 to 350 euros. However, the leak for this morning pegs that the Redmi Pad will go on sale 71.9 Kuwaiti Dinars which is about Rs 18,800.
