The Fitbit Charge 3 is the latest fitness band to be launched by the company in India. It has arrived as the successor to the Fitbit Charge 2 that was unveiled in the previous year. Fitbit had announced the Charge 3 fitness tracker in India back in August. At that time, the company had said that the Charge 3 would be available in November. However, it is only now that the wearable device has been made available for purchase in the country.
The Fitbit Charge 3 resembles its predecessor when it comes to appearance. However, the wearable device comes with some improvements including a better display. The OLED screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass 3. Compared to the previous model, the display of the Charge 3 is 40 percent bigger and brighter.
The Fitbit Charge 3 can recognise various kinds of exercises such as running, swimming, elliptical, and sports. The new fitness band from Fitbit offers users goal-oriented exercise modes such as swimming, biking, running and so on. It can be used for tracking sleep patterns as well. With GPS onboard, the Fitbit Charge 3 supports real-time tracking for outdoor activities.
The Charge 3 offers up to 50 meters of water resistance. The fitness band can be paired to a smartphone using Bluetooth. Through the Fitbit app on a paired device, users can set goals and track their progress. After pairing it with a smartphone, the Charge 3 can also display notifications for alarms, reminders, calendar alerts, text messages and incoming calls. Women can use the companion app to track periods, ovulation and fertility cycles as well. The battery of the Charge 3 offers up to 7 days of battery life. The wearable device also offers 24/7 heart rate tracking since it comes equipped with a heart rate monitor. It can also let users learn how many calories are burnt while achieving exercise goals.
