Demand for air purifiers grows by 1.4x in November

The air quality index reached alarming levels in several cities, and consumers are increasingly searching for solutions. As a result, the demand for air purifiers has increased tremendously. As the pollution levels in Delhi soared, the demand for air purifiers remained highest in the north. But due to health awareness, consumers know the importance of air purifier, and as a result, the demand for air purifiers have stretched throughout the year.

Flipkart Insights: Demand for Air Purifiers

According to the latest insight from Flipkart, the air purifier segment has grown by 1.4x in November compared to the same period last year. The e-commerce giant witnessed three times more demand in November than in the previous months.

The demand for air purifiers has been high in metros such as New Delhi, Bangalore, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, some parts of Mumbai, and tier 2 cities such as Chandigarh and Ludhiana. Although in November, Delhi and Gurugram alone contributed to 50% of demand.

With the sharp increase in demand, there has been an influx of air purifiers with new technological innovations to meet customers’ changing needs. This includes air purifiers with smart connectivity features such as app-enabled controls, larger capacities to accommodate larger homes, and the ability to circulate hot and cold air.

This is significant because air purifiers, which are in high demand during the winter, are known to route cold air in the room, which has been a source of frustration for customers; therefore, air purifiers with both cold and hot air circulation patterns are increasingly being preferred by customers.
