The Samsung Galaxy A8s “Unicorn Edition” Raspberry variant is now listed on JD.com for 2,799 yuan. Since the “Unicorn Edition” is identical to the existing color variants in terms of hardware specifications, the price remains identical as well. However, the two new color variants do come with a new “magic mirror” feature. Users can take out the phone and long press the Bixby button to activate the feature, which basically lets you use the display as a mirror.
Samsung Galaxy A8s features a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and Always-on display support. Thanks to the in-display 24MP selfie camera, the smartphone boasts a significantly improved screen-to-body ratio compared to previous Galaxy A-series smartphones. The Galaxy A8s is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 10nm octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 616 GPU. In the memory department, Galaxy A8s comes in two configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. For further expansion, the mid-range smartphone includes a microSD card slot.
Moving on to optics, the Galaxy A8s features an impressive 24MP + 10MP + 5MP triple-camera setup at the rear. The primary 24MP sensor features phase-detection autofocus and an f/1.7 aperture lens. Connectivity-wise, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is fueled by a 3400mAh capacity non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support. It currently runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with the Samsung Experience UX overlay on top.
