In December, Samsung had introduced the Galaxy A8s smartphone in China. It was the first Samsung smartphone to arrive with a punch-hole display. The same smartphone has been introduced in the home market of South Korea today with a different name – Galaxy A9 Pro.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro Specifications and Features
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy A9 Pro does not differ from the Galaxy A8s handset. It houses a 6.4-inch LCD panel with Infinity-O display design. The punch-hole screen produces full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The glass bodied phone measures 158 x 74.9 x 7.4mm and it weighs 173 grams.
The Snapdragon 710 chipset is the driving force of the smartphone. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. There is a microSD card slot on the device for additional storage. The handset comes loaded with Android Oreo.
The rear shell of the Galaxy A9 Pro features a fingerprint scanner and a triple camera module on the top-left corner. The latter comprises of a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel telephoto lens and 5-megapixel depth sensor. For capturing selfies, the smartphone features a 24-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Galaxy A9 Pro is packed with a 3,400mAh battery. The other features that are available on the smartphone are single-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro Price and Release Date
The Galaxy A9 Pro will be releasing in South Korea on January 28th with a price tag of KRW 599,500 (~Rs. 38,000). The smartphone will be available in colours like Blue, Gray and Black. After China, South Korea is the second market to receive the smartphone. Customers who have participated in the Samsung Members program until March 31st will receive a 10,000mAh power bank as gift. There is no word on the Indian launch of the phone.
