Samsung’s marquee flagships, such as the recently launched Galaxy S23 series, are immensely popular. However, the same can’t be said about the Fan Edition or FE version of the Galaxy S flagship launched each year. There have been reports about Samsung potentially ditching the lineup in the past, and we’re now getting word from a reliable source that the phone may not launch this year.
The revelation was made by Roland Quandt, someone who has a decent track record of getting these details right. Unfortunately, Quandt’s tweet didn’t go into detail about the reasoning behind the supposed postponement of the Galaxy S23 FE.

In a tightly packed calendar year that includes the launch of at least five flagship phones and several mid-rangers in between, there’s not enough hype around the FE. In theory, it’s a cheaper version of the Galaxy S23, with some obvious compromises in the hardware department.
As Gadgets360 points out, Samsung reportedly had to divert the chipset supply meant for 2022’s Galaxy S22 FE in favour of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This resulted in the company not releasing the Galaxy S22 FE last year, posing big questions about the series’ future.
So with no FE smartphone launching in 2022 and 2023, the Galaxy S21 FE is the last known Fan Edition model available. Thankfully for Samsung, the position left vacant by the FE series has been occupied by the robust portfolio of Galaxy A phones.
