  • A new leak claims S23 Ultra will have a 200MP camera
  • It is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset

Galaxy S23 Ultra could be Samsung’s first phone to feature a 200-megapixel camera. Several brands are gearing up to launch smartphones with a 200-megapixel camera. Leaks have revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi 12T Pro and its rebranded version, called the Redmi K50S Pro, will also have a 200-megapixel camera. It is unclear whether any other smartphone OEM will launch a 200-megapixel camera phone in the remaining months of this year.

According to a leak by reliable tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will also feature a 200-megapixel camera. However, it is unclear whether it will feature the same 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor that will be available on the Moto X30 Pro. The leaker did not share any other information on the specs of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Speculations are rife that the Galaxy S23 lineup will have three devices, the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. In the past, Samsung has released its S-series flagship phones with Exynos or Snapdragon chipsets in different markets. However, it is speculated that all markets will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powered Galaxy S23 models.

Since the Galaxy S10 series, which debuted in 2029, the South Korean company has been offering a 10-megapixel selfie camera on its S-series flagship phones. However, according to a recent report by GalaxyClub.nl, the S23 and S23+ will have a 12-megapixel selfie camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 40-megapixel front camera. So, it appears that the S23 Ultra may retain the predecessor’s selfie camera.

At present, the rumour mill is buzzing with leaks related to Samsung’s upcoming Z-series flagships. Earlier today, Pricebaba leaked the official press renders of the Z Fold 4 well ahead of its launch date of August 10th, 2022. It seems that as soon as the company announces the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 in the next month, rumours about the Galaxy S23 series will emerge quickly.
