Galaxy S7, S7 Edge To Get New Always On Display Features

On: October 17, 2016

Samsung had already halted the production of its Galaxy Note 7 and recalled all the devices back. Even though Note 7 is dead, it doesn’t mean that some of its features can’t survive and carried over to other Samsung devices.

Samsung has announced that they are rolling out an update to Always on Display feature to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. This update with version number 1.4.02 brings many new features including some of those exclusive to Galaxy Note 7.

This update brings features like new calendar looks, a digital clock and it also added the option to show the current music track playing on Always on Display (AoD). In new digital clock option, you can change the color as well as font and even create your own custom text signature. Along with a digital clock, the update also added analog and world clocks to show on AoD.

Samsung is also claiming to reduce the battery consumption of the display with this update. According to the company, it will now use less than 1% of battery per hour. In addition to that, the AoD will also support S-View and keyboard covers.

So, you can see the required information on your phone without even touching the screen. All you need is just a short glance. You can get this update by either navigating to settings or downloading the APK from here to install the update manually.
