Samsung Galaxy Sport Bags NCC Certification in Taiwan

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Sport smartwatch was recently certified by the US FCC. It has also been certified by the South Korean NRRA certification agency. The upcoming smartwatch has now bagged NCC certification in Taiwan, confirming that it is indeed inching closer to launch.

Samsung Galaxy Sport Likely to Debut at Unpacked Event in San Francisco Next Month

The Taiwanese NCC certification does not reveal any new information regarding the SM-R500 smartwatch, which is codenamed “Pulse”. Expected to launch as the Samsung Galaxy Sport, it is expected to include 4GB of internal storage. As revealed by the FCC filings recently, the SM-R500 will support Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n for connectivity. Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Sport is expected to include support for Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, and NFC as well. The upcoming wearable is tipped to be available in Black, Gold, Green, and Silver color options at launch. According to previous reports, the smartwatch will be Samsung’s first wearable to come with Bixby Reminders in addition to Bixby support. Needless to say, it will run on Samsung’s Tizen operating system. Bixby Reminders will be available on the Galaxy Watch as well via a software update that is expected to be rolled out sometime later this year.

The Galaxy Sport is not the only new wearable that Samsung plans to launch soon. Apart from the SM-R500, the company is readying the SM-R370 and SM-R375 wearables as well. The SM-R370 and SM-R375 are said to be variants of the Galaxy Fit fitness tracker, successor to the Gear Fit2 Pro. Samsung may introduce the Galaxy Sport, Galaxy Fit, as well as Galaxy Buds alongside the flagship Galaxy S10 trio at its Unpacked event in San Francisco, California on February 20. Some rumors suggest Samsung may also showcase its foldable Galaxy F smartphone at the same event next month.
