Garmin Fenix 6 GPS multi-sport smartwatches launched in India, prices start at Rs 79,990

Garmin has launched a new series of rugged smartwatches in the Indian market. The Garmin Fenix 6 Series includes four models – Fenix 6, Fenix 6S, Fenix 6X and Fenix 6X Pro Solar. The company is highlighting key features such as longer battery life, Pace Pro technology and Music and Solar Charging lens (for the Fenix 6X Pro model only).  Just yesterday, Fossil introduced its Hybrid HR series which is a cross between an analogue watch and a smartwatch. With heart rate monitor, always-on display 3ATM water resistance and more, the offering combines a traditional watch with the efficiency of technology. The Fenix series, on the other hand, is made for “fiery explorer” individuals, says Garmin.

Garmin Fenix 6 and Fenix 6S have four variants each

The Garmin Fenix 6 series comes equipped with PacePro technology which helps in strategising the running activity of a user. PacePro also guides the user when they are running a course. Users can also create plans directly on Garmin Connect or Garmin Connect Mobile. While running, they’ll get access to their target and actual split pace, distance to the next split and if they are lagging/exceeding their target pace. All this data is displayed on the watch face itself.Outdoor experiences like mountain biking, golfing, trail running, hiking, hunting and diving can also be tracked by the watch.

Built-in activity profiles, VO2 max estimates, ClimbPro and training status are some of the additional features. All the models in the Fenix 6 range include wrist-based heart rate for all-day stress tracking, underwater wrist-based heart rate and Pulse Ox blood oxygen saturation to support advanced sleep monitoring. The Body Battery feature is an energy monitoring feature is used during workouts, rest times and sleep.

Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar comes with a battery life of up to 21 days

Users can also make payments via their Garmin Fenix 6 smartwatches with Garmin Pay. They do not need their card or phone to access this feature. In addition to all this, the models are also capable of displaying call/SMS/notification alerts. A power manager is also included in the package to help the battery last longer.

The Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar is the company’s first solar-powered watch and it is designed with Power Glass to purportedly help in increasing the battery life. When solar charging is used, the watch is capable of providing up to three days extra of battery life. The Fenix 6 and Fenix 6X feature a rugged design with a display size of 1.3-inches and 1.4-inches, respectively. The Fenix 6S features a display of size 1.2-inches. New features like QuickFit, nylon bands and silicone colours are also included. The Sapphire editions of these models are laced with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens.

Garmin Fenix 6 smartwatches price and availability

The Fenix 6X Pro Solar has been launched in a sapphire edition only. It features a Sapphire Titanium Carbon Gray DLC with a Black Band or DLC Titanium Bracelet. These are priced at Rs 94,990 and Rs 1,14,990, respectively.

The Fenix 6X has been launched in two variants – Sapphire Carbon Grey and Sapphire Black DLC. They are priced at Rs 84,990 and Rs 91,490, respectively. Fenix 6, on the other hand, has four variants – Sapphire Carbon Gray DLC (with Black Band), Sapphire Titanium (with Ember Orange band), Sapphire Black DLC (with Heathered Red Nylon Band) and Sapphire Titanium (with Vented Titanium Bracelet). These variants cost Rs 79,990, Rs 82,490, Rs 82,490 and Rs 91,490, respectively.

As for the Fenix 6S smartwatch, it also has four variants – Sapphire Rose Gold-tone (with Powder Gray Band), Sapphire Carbon Gray DLC (with Black Band), Sapphire Rose Gold-tone (with Heathered Black Nylon
Band) and Sapphire Light Gold-tone (with Shale Gray Leather Band). The first two variants cost Rs 79,990 while the other two cost Rs 82,490.

The range is available across Amazon, Paytm Mall, Tata CLiQ and Flipkart. They are also available via various offline stores in India.
