The contest is being produced by Studio NEXT for initial exhibition on Gemini TV, which is a channel owned by Sun TV Network Limited. The show is soon making a comeback and ahead of its relaunch, Gemini TV is running a contest to promote the show.

As mentioned earlier, the Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021 from Gemini TV is a quiz-based game show. The contest comes right before the start of a new season of the TV show. The show was previously hosted by Telugu superstars Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi. After season 4 concluded in 2017, the show went dark until 2021.

Gemini TV has announced that Season 5 of Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu is coming soon and this time, it is hosted by N.T. Rama Rao Jr., who is dubbed as a young superstar in Telugu cinema. In order to promote the show before it goes live, the Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021 is being help.

The contest involves multiple different rounds and those interested can participate either via SMS or through the Sun NXT app. The contest itself is being held from March 29th, 2021 to April 11th, 2021. Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: eligibility

  • Any person or persons who participates in the competition and who has completed 18 years of age as on March 29th, 2021.
  • Any person or persons who is a citizen of India residing in the states of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
  • Any person or persons who is of sound mind and health.
  • Any person or persons who can enter the competition in accordance with the Rules and Regulations stated below.
  • The employees of STNL, of the producer Studio NEXT, of the advertising agency which has been appointed from time to time, and also employees of the sponsors; and members of their immediate family; persons other than Indian nationals, or Indian nationals living out of India, or those who do not qualify under the definition of resident of India as per the Income Tax Act, 1961 or those not conversant in spoken Telugu, are ineligible to enter the Competition.

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: first round questions

The first round of Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest is being held from March 29th to April 11th, 2021. There will be one competition question having four multiple choice answer options. The question will be aired each day during the promotions of the show during the above mentioned period. In other words, a total of 14 unique questions will be asked during the first round period.

The mobile telephone subscribers of Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio in AP & Telangana can participate in this contest. Uses can also register using the Sun NXT app for iOS or Android phones to participate in this first round. Gemini TV notes that the promotions will be aired “inviting all viewers to register for the competition”.

The SMS, online and mobile app acceptance for each question of the first round period will be open for the next 24 hours. This begins at 8.15pm IST to next day at 7.45pm. Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: how to participate in first round

In order to participate in the first round, the participants must register using the Sun NXT app for iOS or Android phones. They can also register using SMS and should complete the registration on or before closing of the defined timelines. Else the registration will not be considered as a valid entry.

The cellular numbers or mobile number used to register or entered on the Sun NXT app will be considered as a unique identification number to identify each registrant. Only the first valid entry will be considered for each mobile number through each mode of entry. The registrant needs to give the correct answer by choosing the correct option. Here is how to send the correct answer:

Participate using SMS

The short code number works with operators including Airtel, BSNL, Jio and Vodafone Idea. The SMS rate for participation is up to Rs 3 per SMS for messages sent to 509093. To answer through SMS for first round period, you need to send “EMK <OPTION (A/B/C/D)> <Age (completed years as on March 29th, 2021)> <Gender (M/F/O)> <State (AP/TS/O)>”. Example: EMK A 24 M AP.

Participate using Sun NXT app

  • Download the Sun NXT app from the Google play store or App store.
  • Once the app is installed, click the app to open and click on the thumbnail promoting “EMK with

  • For the question, the participant has to watch Gemini TV and it won’t be displayed in the app.
  • The multiple choice answers for the questions will be displayed in the app and the viewer has to select the correct option from the option (A/B/C/D).

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: what is level 2 of the contest?

Gemini TV says that a total of approximately 20,000 valid correct entries from the first round of the contest will be selected using a randomiser software. These valid entries will be shortlisted by the randomiser software on a daily basis from the valid entries received for each day. The organisers of the contest have also shared a predefined reservation criteria on the basis of which the entries will be further selected.

In the case of one or more cells of the grid not getting completed, the balance might be filled at the discretion of the company. During this process, a total of 14,400 valid correct entries of the registrants received from the first round will be called back by telephone on the number shared by participants at the time of entry. The timelines, according to the organisers, are subject to change but selected registrants should expect a call from the company. The registrant should ensure that they receive the call since a follow up won’t be offered later.

The calls will be made on the “first-come, first-serve” basis and whoever first receives the call and confirms immediately that they are the registrant will be considered for further rounds. Once the details of the registrant are verified, their call will be transferred to the automated IVR mode. The automated IVR will ask the registrant to do the following:

  • Enter his/her age (in completed years).
  • Enter his/her gender.
  • Provide information on their education and occupation by choosing the options provided by the IVR.

The IVR will then ask the registrant to answer two skill based questions with multiple choice asked one after another. [Please note that the input should be received within 6 seconds and the IVR will repeat the question only once]. The answer provided by the registrant must be closest to the correct answer. Depending on the answer, the registrant will be either selected or disqualified. If selected, they will receive a call within the next few days for further participation.

On successful completion of level 1 and level 2, all selected registrants will be evaluated by the organisers. They will then be shortlisted using the randomiser software on a predefined reservation criteria. The company notes that a total of 2,000 registrants for the first round period will be selected to attend the audition venue as auditionees. In the event there are less than the required number of registrants, the registrants with less than the required number of correct answers may be selected by the randomizer.

In the event of a tie, the answer to the ‘nearest to’ questions will be used to select the correct entry. If there is a tie in the ‘nearest to’ question also, the company will select the auditionees on a random basis or any other method that they think is reasonable. The pre-defined reservation criteria for selecting the registrants to attend the audition venue is below:

The customer care executives will inform the registrants about the audition date and venue. They will also confirm their availability on the audition dates and shoot dates. The registrant will not be permitted to continue with the registration in case they are not available on the said dates. The registrants, if available, will be asked to carry following documents:

  • 4 recent passport sized colour photographs of the auditionee
  • For valid name proof (any one of the following):
    (i) PAN Card along with Birth certificate
    (ii) Passport
    (iii) Voter ID or
    (iv) Driver’s License
    (v) UID or Aadhaar card
  • For Valid address proof (any one of the following):
    (i) Landline Phone or Electricity Bill
    (ii) Passport
    (iii) Voter ID
    (iv) Driver’s License
    (v) Ration card
    (vi) UID or Aadhaar card
  • 2 recent passport sized colour photographs each of four Phone/Video A Friend Candidate(s). The Video A Friend Candidate(s) must have completed 18 years of age as on March 29th, 2021 residing in India and of Indian nationality.

The auditionee must carry the original document and two attested photocopies of each document. All the above mentioned documents must also be in Telugu or English. The company will not bear the cost associated with travel, accommodation or any other expense in relation to the participation of the auditionee. Only the auditionee will be allowed to enter the audition venue upon submission of valid documents.

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: what is level 4 of the contest?

The first round of auditions will be conducted from the period commencing from April 18th, 2021 to April 25th, 2021. The timings for registration of auditionees will be intimidated and cannot be changed or modified to suit auditionee’s requirements. The auditionees must be present at the allotted audition venue on the date and time allotted to them along with valid documents.

The doors to the audition room will shut at 9am and late entrants may stand disqualified from the audition process. Each auditionee will be provided a unique registration number which they must carry with them at all times during the audition. The auditionees also need to sign the registration form along with the release form or any other document as required by the organising company. Once the formalities are completed, the auditionee will go through an entrance test consisting of two rounds – written test and video audition.

Written test

  • The Auditionees will be seated in a hall for the entrance test.
  • The doors to the room will shut at 9am or at such time as the company may decide in its sole discretion.
  • Auditionees arriving later than such time will not be eligible for participation in the auditions.
  • The auditionees will be given a certain fixed amount of time to fill out their answer options on their answer sheet.
  • In the event the answer sheet is lost, unreadable, incomplete or untraceable, such an auditionee may be disqualified.

Video Audition

  • Each of the auditionees will have to undergo a personal interview.
  • The video auditions will be taped for future reference by the company or producer.
  • In the event of any unforeseen loss of recordings, producers at its own discretion may request auditionees to appear for a repeat audition session.
  • The producer and the company reserve the right to increase or decrease or alter the number of auditionees at any audition centre.

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: what is level 5 of the contest?

  • Two member jury, one representative each from Studio NEXT and the company, will evaluate all the auditionees on the basis of the answer sheets and the recorded footage of the video audition of the auditionees. The shortlisted auditionees from this evaluation round will be evaluated by the 2nd evaluation jury.
  • The 2nd evaluation shall be performed by a three member jury, one representative each from Studio NEXT, the company and an independent member (also referred to as judges). The Judges will select the participants on the basis of the answer sheets and the recorded footages of the video audition of the auditionees. The two lists of participants will be selected for the fastest finger first round, out of which one list of participants will be used for replacement purposes.
  • In addition to this a “Back-up Participant(s)” will be selected to participate in the show, in case any selected participant does not appear for the shoot, for any reason.
  • Also, 15 auditionees will be shortlisted from Hyderabad (again in descending order of performance evaluation) as “stand-bys” in order to replace any confirmed shortlisted auditionee who is a “no-show” on the day of the shoot.
  • A total of 8 Participants will be selected each week for the fastest finger first round and this process will comprise 4 episodes per week.

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: terms and conditions

  1. The participation in this contest by sending entries in any of the aforesaid manner shall be considered to be acceptance of these rules and regulations.
  2. An entry is not transferable.
  3. Failure to provide proof or affidavit of eligibility, including the proof of name, address and correct date of birth within a reasonable time upon request by the producer/company may result in disqualification.
  4. The company also reserves the right to disqualify a contestant incase a discrepancy is found to exist in the information furnished/provided/stated by the contestant during the conversation with the producer/company or any of the company’s subcontractors and vendors in the competition, and/or in the information stated in the documents furnished by the contestant.
  5. The contestant hereby represents that he/she is not under any exclusive contracts with any other third party or agency or is not under any kind of disqualification under law to enter into an agreement with the Company or its affiliates, as the case may be.
  6. The contestant shall undertake, warrant and guarantee to the company that the contestant has the full legal capacity to participate in the competition.
  7. By registering for the competition, the contestant represents that he/she is medically fit and does not have present or past psychological ailments.
  8. If in the past he/she has had any psychological ailments or have been under medication for any psychological, anxiety, hypertension, depression or any other medical problems, the same shall be disclosed to the company/producer in writing along with a copy of the certificate from a qualified medical practitioner declaring him/her to be fit for participation in the competition.
  9. The contestant will not be confirmed as contestants for the show if they are suffering from any kind of ill health, medical problems.
  10. It is the responsibility of the contestant to be medically fit for participation, including not being COVID-19 positive.
  11. The contestants represent that they have not been accused or convicted or are otherwise involved in any criminal offence and/or are not under inquiry or trial by the police or judiciary which has not been disclosed to the company in writing.
  12. The contestant acknowledges that he/she has voluntarily chosen to participate in the competition at his or her free-will and is willing to bear all risk, costs & consequences arising from such participation in the competition.
  13. Each Contestant is also required to refrain from wearing any clothing items bearing designer or sports logos or bearing the name or likeness of a celebrity, living or dead, during the studio part of the competition.
  14. The contestants are also not permitted to wear or mention any competing TV channel names, or names of competitors or sponsors of the competition.
  15. If entries are received for participation, it is assumed that the person sending in the entry has provided us with permission to send SMSs to or call him or her, whether or not such sender is registered on the National Do Not Call registry.

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu Contest 2021: prizes to be won

  • It is not necessary that each participant wins the maximum prize money
  • Any and all taxes and/or levies applicable on the prize money won by the participant(s), under the laws of India shall be borne by the participant(s) in relation to the prize.
  • The payment of prize money to the winner(s) shall be after deduction of all applicable taxes and levies and subject to providing the relevant documents as intimated by the company and will be paid the time stipulated by the company.
  • A duly attested copy of the PAN card is compulsory to claim the prize money by the auditionee.
  • The company may refuse to pay winnings or reclaim all sums paid to participant(s) in the event of his/her fraud, dishonesty or non-entitlement to participate in the competition.
