On: March 21, 2017

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has launched its A1 in India. The Gionee A1 was initially unveiled at the MWC. After the Moto G5 Plus, this is the second phone to launch in India shortly after its international appearance.

Gionee claims to have taken a new direction with Selfies and Battery being their major area of focus. The A1 fits their new tagline perfectly to the T, it justifies it with a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with a LED flash and a 4010mAh battery. The new smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The MediaTek MT6755 (Helio P10) processor clocked at 2.0GHz powers this phone. It also has 4GB of RAM to keep things running smooth. There is 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 256GB via the hybrid SIM slot. The phone houses a fingerprint scanner in the home button on the front.

The Gionee A1 rocks a 13-megapixel autofocus shooter at the back with an F 2.0 aperture which should be good for low light photography. At the front, it gets a 16-megapixel fixed focus camera with the same aperture. The smartphone has a metal unibody which it claims is aircraft grade aluminum. In terms of connectivity, it has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G with VoLTE. The phone is powered by a 4010mAh battery and gets an 18W fast charger in the box. While Gionee hasn’t declared the pricing of the A1. But looking at their history we can expect the phone to be priced at Rs 24,499.
