Gionee, the popular smartphone making company has finally launched the A1 Plus, bigger sibling of the Gionee A1 in India at a price tag of Rs. 26,999. The device was unveiled earlier, together with its slightly under specced offering, the Gionee A1 at MWC 2017. The Gionee A1 made its way to the Indian market bearing a price tag of Rs. 20,000 at launch and has seen a price cut of Rs. 3,500 earlier this month.
The Gionee A1 Plus sports a 6-inch IPS display capable of reproducing a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This display is also covered with Corning Gorilla glass for enhanced protection against scratches and dings. For the shutterbugs, the device sports a 20 MP front facing camera and a dual camera setup at the rear. The rear camera setup consists of a 5 MP sensor with f/2.3 aperture and a 13 MP sensor bearing an aperture of f/2.0. Cameras at both ends of the device are coupled with flash for capturing images in darker environments.
Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek Helio P25 processor backed up with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU for an enhanced gaming experience. In terms of battery backup, the smartphone features a 4,500mAh battery pack that can easily get the user through a day and a half’s usage.
The phone is also bundled with a quick charge 18W power brick that can charge the device up in less than 2 hours, thanks to its dual charging chips. The phone is also 4G VoLTE capable and will support the Jio network. The device will initially be sold through offline retail similar to the A1 and will probably be sold through online sellers. The device has been launched in India with two colour variations, Mocha Gold and Black.
