We reported yesterday that Gionee launched its latest mid-range smartphone called Gionee F5 in China for 1799 Yuan (approximately Rs 17, 615). Now, we can say that the company has also come up with yet another affordable offering in its ‘F series’ smartphones line. The smartphone in question is Gionee F106 is retailing in China for 999 Yuan, which converts at around Rs 9,800. It comes in White and Black colour options. It was spotted on TENAA in December last year.
As far as the specifications the Gionee F106 go by, it features a 5-inch IPS LCD screen with 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution, resulting in 296 PPI pixel density. The phone packs in a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core 64-bit processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD). The Gionee F 106 comes with two SIM slots and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
The Gionee F106 houses an 8MP rear camera alongside LED flash for photography. Up front is a 5MP secondary camera for capturing selfies. Furthermore, the device bundles a 2660mAh battery in addition to connectivity options like 4G LTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm jack, and microUSB 2.0 port. The phone, however, lacks the fingerprint scanner. It measures 144 × 70.8 × 8.4 and weighs 150 grams. We are not sure if or when the Gionee F106 will launch in India.
