Gionee GN5005 With 3GB RAM & 4000mAh Battery Certified in China

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is working on a new phone which goes by the model number Gionee GN5005. The device recently appeared on a Chinese certification website TENAA with a limited set of details and pictures. Even though there are no concrete details available at this moment, it is expected that Gionee will unveil the GN5005 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Q1 2017.


If TENAA listing is to be believed, the Gionee GN5005 sports a 5-inch inch display featuring 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution. What powers this upcoming Gionee device is a 1.25GHz quad-core processor paired with 3GB RAM for multitasking. Assisting these specifications is 16GB of onboard storage which is expandable up to 128GB through memory card support.

Coming to the camera, the Gionee GN5005 houses an 8-megapixel primary camera on the back with LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel secondary camera on the front for selfies. It can easily be deciphered from images that the device lacks a fingerprint scanner on the back. The listing also mentions nothing regarding the fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the Gionee GN5005 packs in a massive 4000mAh battery which may not be removable. It is expected to be a Dual-SIM device which runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box. It should be noted that the device is yet to arrive on benchmarking websites such as Geekbench and AuTuTu.

The Gionee GN5005 supports connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and microUSB in addition to a standard set of sensors like gravity, distance, and light.
