Gionee K6 with Helio P60 and Android 7.1 launched: price, specifications

Chinese brand Gionee has been largely absent from the smartphone market. The last phone launched by the brand in India was the Gionee F9 Plus, back in September 2019. Gionee had also launched a smartwatch in the country, but has not been active in the country since. Now, the company is back with a new affordable smartphone, launched in its home country. The latest device is dubbed as Gionee K6 and it is currently limited to China.

The smartphone packs decent features like a triple rear camera, Helio P60 SoC and a 4,350mAh battery with 10W charging. However, the Gionee K6 ships with the dated Android 7.1 Nougat, which is surprising. Let’s find out what the smartphone offers out of the box.

Gionee K6 specifications and features

The Gionee K6 is powered by the Helio P60 processor.

The Gionee K6 features a 6.2-inch LCD display bearing HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch on the top. The back of the phone houses a physical fingerprint scanner and a vertical camera setup. The smartphone is available in Black and Blue colours with a gradient finish. 

On the camera front, the Gionee K6 has a triple camera setup comprising of a 16MP primary sensor. The other two sensors have not been revealed by the brand. Up front, the device features a 13MP selfie shooter. 

Internally, the Gionee K6 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P60 processor coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU onboard. The device packs either 6GB or 8GB RAM along with 128GB and 256GB internal storage respectively. The smartphone draws its power from a 4,350mAh battery unit with support for 10W charging. It runs the dated Android 7.1 Nougat. 

Gionee K6 pricing and availability

The Gionee K6 is already up for sale in China. The base 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at RMB 799 (~Rs 8,500), while the 8GB + 128GB model retails at RMB 899 (~Rs 9,500). The top-end 8GB + 256GB option carries a price tag of RMB 1,099 (~Rs 11,500).
