Chinese smartphone-maker Gionee launched eight new smartphones on Sunday at an event in Shenzen, China. The brand claims all of these smartphones to possess bezel-less displays but they have comparatively more bezels than offerings from other manufacturers. But these phones have relatively less bezels than Gionee’s previous offerings. The 8 new phones by Gionee are: Gionee S11, Gionee S11s, Gionee M7 Plus, Gionee M7, Gionee F6, Gionee F205, Gionee Steel M7 Power and Gionee M7 Mini.
Gionee, just like most of the other smartphone brands believes that the bezel-less feature is among the biggest advancement currently. To adapt to the trend, the brand has refreshed its entire product line-up. To ensure a good experience for its users on FullView bezel-less displays, Gionee has also partnered with 2000 app makers and 900 game developers for better compatibility.
The top-variant smartphone among all is the Gionee M7 Plus, which is a flagship device. The Gionee M7 Plus fits a 6.43-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. On the performance front, it comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and Snapdragon 660 chipset underneath. It has a dual-rear camera setup comprising of a 16-megapixel and an 8-megapixel sensor. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone has a 5000mAh battery and supports 10W wireless charging. The brand also announced the M7, which was unveiled earlier in September.
Next in line is the Gionee S11s which is positioned to compete with the OnePlus 5T. It packs a 6.01-inch FullView AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. There phone comes with four cameras in total. The rear setup is of a 16 megapixel + 8 megapixel sensor and the front one has a combination of 20 megapixel + 8 megapixel. In terms of performance, it has 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and Helio P30 chipset.
The S11 is a toned down version of the higher-priced S11s and bears the same physical design along with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display. It has two cameras on the back as well as on the front but has different sensors than the S11s. The front camera packs in a 16 megapixel and 8 megapixel setup. Whereas on the rear, it has a 16 megapixel sensor combined with 5 megapixel. Performance-wise, it packs in Helio P23 chipset, 4GB of RAM and comes with 64GB of storage.
Two new phones were also launched in Gionee’s F series, the F6 (also called as S11 Lite) and the F205. The F6 comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display bearing a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. In terms of performance, it rocks 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and Snapdragon 435 chipset underneath. The rear camera has a dual-camera setup of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel. The front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor.
The F205 on the other hand has a 5.45-inch HD+ display which is near bezel-less. The rear camera is of 8-megapixel and the front one is of 5-megapixel. Under the hood, there’s 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a MediaTek 6739 to power the phone.
Other lower-priced offerings that were launched include Gionee M7 Power and M7 Mini. M7 Power was already launched in India a few weeks back. Coming to the M7 Mini, it has a 5.5-inch HD+ display and an 8-megapixel camera on both, front and rear. The phone packs in Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
