Gionee Max with sub-Rs 6,000 pricing launching in India on August 25th

After a long absence, Gionee has been gradually launching new products in India. Last year, the company launched phones like Gionee F205 Pro and Gionee F9 Plus in India. Earlier this year, it unveiled products like the Gionee GBuddy powerbank and Gionee Watch 5 and Watch 4 smartwatches in the country. The brand is now gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. The microsite for the upcoming Gionee phone is now live on Flipkart.

The microsite mentions that Gionee will be launching the new phone at 2pm on August 25th.  The handset is being advertised as the Gionee Max and it will be arriving as a budget phone priced under Rs 6,000.

The Gionee Max entry-level smartphone is launching in India next week

The Gionee Max phone has a waterdrop notch screen. The handset is expected to arrive with a large-sized battery. Nothing else is known on the specifications of the smartphone. With a few days remaining for the launch, some of the other key features of the phone are expected to appear on the microsite. Tomorrow, the company will be confirming the battery capacity of the device.

Gionee K6 specifications and features

In May, Gionee unveiled the Gionee K6 smartphone in China. It is unclear whether the same phone will be announced in India in the coming week. The Gionee K6 came with a 6.2-inch HD+ LCD panel with waterdrop notch. It has a front camera of 13-megapixels, and a 16-megapixel dual camera setup on its back. One of the major gripes of the phone was that it came with the obsolete Android 7.1 Nougat.

The MediaTek Helio P60 chipset fueled the device with a 4,350mAh battery and 10W charging support. The handset was introduced in multiple variants like 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. It was announced with a starting price of RMB 799 (~Rs 8,650).
