Gionee Max with 5,000mAh battery and dual cameras launched in India: price, specifications

After a long hiatus, Chinese brand Gionee is back in the Indian smartphone market. Earlier this year, the company had launched Gionee GBuddy powerbank and two smartwatches in the country. The smartphone maker has now introduced an entry-level offering called the Gionee Max. It packs decent specifications and carries an affordable price tag.

Ahead of the launch, Flipkart had revealed Gionee Max’s design as well as some key specifications. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery that is claimed to offer 28 days of standby time. Let’s see what the device has in store for us. 

Gionee Max specifications and features

The Gionee Max packs a 5,000mAh battery unit.

The Gionee Max features a 6.1-inch dewdrop notch display with thick bezels on the top and bottom chin. It features 2.5D curved glass. The device lacks a physical fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is offered in Royal Blue colour option. The Gionee Max sports dual rear camera setup of 13MP primary sensor paired with a secondary bokeh lens. The device is fitted with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. 

On the hardware side, the Gionee Max is equipped with a 1.6GHz octa-core Spreadtrum processor. It is coupled with 2GB RAM and the device offers 32GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB via dedicated microSD card slot.

The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. Gionee claims that it offers 24 hours of music playback, 9+ hours movies and 12 hours of gaming usage. Software-wise, the Gionee Max runs on Android 10 out of the box.

The Gionee Max is priced affordably at Rs 5,999. It will be available for purchase on Flipkart from August 31st.
